SSC CHSL stands for Staff Selection Commission – Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination. SSC CHSL is a government examination organized by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for recruiting candidates for different Central Government positions for the posts of lower division clerk(LDC), junior secretariat assistant (JSA), data entry operator(DEO), and DEO Grade ‘A’. Eligibility Criteria

In order to appear in the SSC CHSL Exam, candidates have to satisfy the requisite criteria in terms of educational qualification and age. There could also be other criteria that apply in addition to the above criteria of the SSC.

Education Qualification

For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution; Ministry of Culture; and Staff Selection Commission

12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University

For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry 

12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognised Board or equivalent

Steps To Apply for the SSC CHSL 2026

Step 1. Visit the Official  Website:

Go to the official SSC Application Portal or the official mySSC mobile app. 

Step 2. One-Time Registration (OTR):

If you are new to SSC, you must do one-time registration through Aadhaar Authentication and also provide your mobile number and email ID to get the registration number and password.

Step 3. Login:

Now, you need to log in with the help of your registration number and password and navigate to the 'Apply' tab for the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination, 2026. 

Step 4. Provide Your Details:

Verify the automatically entered profile information and provide your details regarding education, category, and preferred posts. 

Step 5. Choose the Examination Centres:

Select three examination centers of your choice from the preferred regions..

Step 6. Take Photo and Signature:

Take a photo of yourself using a webcam and also upload the scanned copy of your signature in JPEG format, not more than 10-20 KB.

Step 7. Application Fee:

You need to pay the application fee of ?100 (not required for women, SC/ST, PwBD, and ex-servicemen candidates) by October 8, 2026. 

Step 8. Submit Application:

After reviewing your details thoroughly, submit the application form and take a printout of it.
