Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organisation under the Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) is an examination which is conducted by SSC every year for the recruitment of eligible candidates for the posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants(PA/SA), and Court Clerk.

An aspirant should be 18 - 27 years old as on 01.01.2020 (Aspirants must not be born before 02-08-1993 and not later than 01-08-2002).

This paper checks the writing skills of the aspirants by making them write a letter and an essay. It will be a descriptive Paper in English/Hindi and will be conducted in pen & paper mode. Typing test is conducted in both English and Hindi languages. While filling the SSC CHSL application form, aspirants need to choose the medium of the typing test. If an aspirant does not choose any medium at the time of filling application, he/she by default would have to take the typing test in English. “The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes,” reads the official notification.
